Volunteering with AFP KS Heartland is a great way to get connected, grow your leadership skills, and give back to the fundraising community!
Joining the board or a committee, you are able to influence the future of the organization by adding your input to our membership efforts, programming or one of our special events! New voices are critical to shaping what we do, reaching new audiences, and ensuring our programs and events best serve the unique needs of the fundraising professional community.
Opportunities

Board of Directors- Roles shift every 1-2 years and include chairs for Membership, Professional Development, National Philanthropy Day, Statewide Outreach, DEI, Sponsorship, Scholarships, Communications, Mentorship, and Be the Cause.

Membership Committee- Put your moves management skills to work (or grow them!) by cultivating memberships, stewarding new members and fostering a vibrant community of fundraisers through socials, mentorship and more!

Professional Development Committee- Do you have opinions on what fundraisers need to know to be successful in an ever-changing nonprofit sector? Want to have a voice in future programming and ensure the unique issues facing fundraising professionals are front and center? This committee oversees our monthly educational sessions, workshops, and speakers.

National Philanthropy Day Committee- Held each November, NPD is our signature event and planning kicks off early each new year. Want to add event planning to your skillsets? Have a passion for celebrating and showcasing the spirit of philanthropy? A great first step is to volunteer at the annual event in November and check it out!
